God’s healing power is real, everyday

Last night one of the children in our home, a three-year-old, suddenly caught a high fever. Within hours, it had soared to 40 degrees. With malaria, typhoid, or any of those scary things being the relaity in east Africa, her parents prayed desperately to know what to do. The Lord spoke to them clearly, showing them to "call for the elders of the church….pray over her…anointing her with oil…and the prayer of faith shall save the sick."
So they called us all upstairs—everyone in the home gathered around little Savannah’s bed. She was shaking, and I could feel the heat inches from her little body. It didn’t help that one of our associates’ young daughter had just died of a strange sickness (which started with fever) only days earlier. We talked of sending Savannah to the nearby hospital or giving her a malaria test, but the test kits had run out.
We dabbed her forehead with oil, claimed scriptures on healing, and prayed desperately for a miracle. The other children came to pray, too. Within minutes, the miracle happened. Her fever came down, gradually. The next morning when I passed by her room I saw her bouncing around good as ever. She was telling everyone that passed that she had been healed. It was a wonderful testimony and we praised God for using this test of faith to prove His Power yet again.
Did I mention I’d had an appendix attack? The same thing happened: someone prayed for me, claiming healing scriptures, and the pain immediately subsided. I have no doubts that when God wants to do something, He just does it without any help.
