A day in the life…

I received the final confirmation this morning that taking part in the “South Pacific” would work out. One funny thing is that my friend Tina got the part of Bloody Mary–Liat’s mother! That should be funny.
This morning my pupil who has autism came over for his lessons. I teach him three times a week, and he is an inspiration and joy to be with. He’s only mildly autistic, and does well in following instructions. Over the last ten months that he’s been going to school here, his condition has improved so much, especially his emotional and social skills. Today he whined a bit about coming in for school, but I’ve learned to be firm with him. We completed a new puzzle together–a big accomplishment! I was pleased to see that he’s remembering the words on his sight-reading list. There’s only about 6, but that’s a big step for him.
When his driver came to pick him up, I sent a few art exhibit posters with him. They will be put up for me at a few different embassies in town. I’m hoping for a good turnout at the exhibit.
The electricity decided to shut itself off all morning. (There went my after-lunch time in the office.) I filled up the time making business phone calls instead and caught up on some reading. I also missed the midday news.
Tonight we had a showing of "The Lord of the Rings Pt 1" on our big screen, And invited some of our friends over to watch with us. Fun adventure and fantasy, but I can never last long watching films late at night. Especially action movies or when the picture moves fast It does something to my eyes and makes me dizzy. Really! I Fell asleep two-thirds of the way through the film and woke up in time for the credits. )I’m well-known for doing this.)
Ironically, I am now sitting here at the computer, blogging at 2am. I am so tired, I almost drank the mosquito lotion instead of my water. I think I should call it a day.
