Gettin slack on my blogs cuz the flu finally caught up with me…

Here in africa, when you are sick, the first thing everyone asks is, "Is it malaria??" Probably because malaria is as rampant as a common cold here. The insane thing is that you’ll find people ill with malaria here but still be working at their day jobs. I don’t know how they do it.

Thank God for me it was nothing more than my bodily system on crash-and-burn. I took two days out and… slept! Yes!!! Feeling much better now. And… tomorrow I have an audience with the king! The papers today trumpeted the news that His Majesty had stopped in to see some of my paintings. I will present him with a surprise tomorrow—a portrait of him and Her Majesty the Queen. It will be a belated birthday present for him. Hope he’ll be pleased.

Tonight there were more rehearsals for "South Pacific". Tina does a hilarious job as "Bloody Mary", it will be hard for me to keep a straight face on the somber parts, the way she puts on that Tonkin accent!

Hmm… Time to crash for a few more hours sleep.

Nyx is a vounteer Missionary Member of The Family International. Her missions have taken her through South East Asia, India, East Africa and South Africa. She currently runs charity projects for terminally-ill, indigent children in The Philippines and is also a child-education consultant, youth counsellor, freelance writer for TV, radio, magazines, a voice-talent, illustrator, artist, Events Host and Music Marketer. She is the eldest of 13 siblings, and a Taurean who enjoys spicy food, open-bar nights, long baths, photographing people, and throwing festive parties.
