Meeting people

Vas writes: Well to start with I’ll document yesterday’s witnessing events. We went to some fine dining restaurants where we had singing engagements booked. We sang some of our original Family songs and then went table to table offering our CD’s and Activated magazines. This is one way we generate financial support as well as meet influential people. The reason we want to meet influential people is because on the one hand they are people who have the means to make a difference in their community. Besides that, they are one of the most neglected classes of society and are in need of spiritual help and comfort like everybody. If we as missionaries not only get the upper class to sponsor us financially but teach them to help others as well, then our efforts will be multiplied.
I was able to spend some time sharing this vision with one couple in particular who were interested and wanted to come to our home to learn more. I explained the benefits of the Activated magazine and how it seems that we put so much emphasis on feeding our physical body but often forget to feed our spirit, which is even more important. I assured them of course that it was important to me that they enjoy their meal.
Our house is always open to receive guests and we welcomed them to come by whenever they wished. Before we excused ourselves they gave a donation in return for two of our CD’s; one for their children and one for them. Now the next step is to see if they will actually visit our home. Sometimes it’s one out of every twenty people that we meet who actually show up at our home to learn more. It’s something that you can’t get discourage about. Progress is being made, it’s just a matter of putting in the hours and being consistent. One cool thing about this situation is our home decided together to designate time on Saturday for families to come over with their children and have a Bible study as well as activities for the kids. It looks like the Lord is already adding on to this ministry and we pray it grows.
