Annual retreat

Well I’ve just returned from our annual area retreat which we invite friends, supporters, and just about anyone else interested in The Family to. I was there playing with our band and I took advantage of the opportunity to take my kids along, as last year I attended and enjoyed the event immensely. The event was hosted at a mountainside hotel in a city near Rio de Janeiro (where I live), called Miguel Pereira. About 220 people attended the retreat this year. My goal at this year’s retreat (aside from doing my job which was to play music and get people inspired) was to spend quality time with my kids, rest a bit, and enjoy the event. Thank the lord I was able to do all of this! Everyone pretty much liked the music, enjoying themselves dancing out in front of the stage (see pics below.) My kids loved their stay at the hotel and didn’t stop for a minute! The location was truly beautiful, complete with heated pool, saunas, game rooms complete with pool tables, ping pong, video games, bowling, darts, air hockey, etc., all of which my kids made good use of, as well as participating in the planned kids activities. I don’t know how kids can do so much in so little time! As for me, during breaks in the meetings, the soccer and tennis courts were where I could be found… The theme of the whole event was “Spiritual Strengthening” so all the classes and workshops were somewhat centered around this subject. The skit teams did an awesome job as well! I think what impressed me the most about the skits was how these guys could come up with so many original ideas. Not only that, their acting was impressive!
