Witnessing day

Vas Writes: The day started at 7:30 am. I had forgotten to prepare the weekly teen devotions (which is one of my duties) but by some miracle I was able to get a study on witnessing ready for the young people in our home. (I did have to skip breakfast though.) We got all fired-up and pumped on God’s Word, reviewing some of the practical aspects of witnessing. The idea was to get so full of the subject (Jesus’ love for us) that we would be able to effortlessly pour it out to others. Our plan was to go out and put it into practice later in the afternoon.
The rest of the morning was spent planning a program for a club I’m hoping to start. The idea of it is to get people to sign up for weekly Bible studies on specific topics such as financial difficulties, marriage, parenting, substance abuse and more. These studies would be held in locations that are convenient for the club members, to make it easy for them to get this spiritual feeding. I don’t want to "let the cat out of the bag" and give away the whole idea until it gets rolling, but I’m hoping that this new endeavor flies. We will see.
At 4:00pm two chaperones—one of them me—and four teenagers headed out for "unconquered territory" in the Mexican countryside. Not knowing where we would end up, awhile later we found ourselves on a busy street in a small town. Lots of businesses and activity. We ended up winning quite a few souls and sharing God’s love with many people. The teens put into practice what they had learned in the morning’s devotions and the day ended with a sweet lady inviting us to eat dinner in her restaurant. She herself cooked the most delicious meal and after eating she poured out her heart to us about some of the hardships she had faced and was facing; her husband running off with another girl after 20 years of marriage, leaving her with the kids to support etc. After hearing her story we all sat in a circle and prayed for her. We sincerely believe in the power of prayer and she could tell because when we were finished our prayers she said she felt real peace in her heart. A friend of hers was present as well, and she started to cry because she was touched by the Spirit. They repeated a prayer with us to ask Jesus to come into their hearts. They want us to come see them every time we come that way which we will definitely do.
By then it was 9:15 and we were a whole hour away from home. After witnessing I always get a real feeling of euphoria, a real "high" that I get from pouring out to others. This made the drive home seem short and all of us were pleased beyond words at all that we’d accomplished. I went to bed late but still woke up at 5:30am to drive into Mexico city. I was picking up one of our missionaries that spent the last ten days in Guatemala. Details later.
