Full Moon - part 1

Vas Writes: Shortly after returning from the teen camp a little tired, I took a moment with the Lord to confirm if I should meet with my friend A. We had previously arranged an appointment to discuss the idea about starting a band. I didn’t exactly know what the full scope was for this band idea but I knew it had been God’s will to suggest it to him. We’ve been ministering to him for some time here in our home. He happens to be a very good drummer and used to play for a famous Mexican punk-rock band.
He’s been getting closer to God, and I would have to say that the biggest miracle so far is that he’s starting to accept the fact that God wants us to communicate with Him through His son Jesus. Something that we believe and live daily. The members of our home discussed and prayed further about this idea of starting a band with A. (using their gifts of prophecy, which I believe my wife explained a bit about in a previous post). The Lord confirmed that it was His will to take it another step and start the practicing. The Lord said that His plan was intricate but that was all we needed to know at that point. So I called him to confirm that I would come by to talk specifics. He said “what is there to talk about, let’s start practicing” and offered to pick me up.
A few of us prayed together again while waiting for Alberto, and asked Jesus to show us if there was anything further He had to say. He told us to be ready to receive suggestions from Alberto, since He was going to speak through Alberto; “Out of the mouths of babes,” as the Bible verse says. Sure enough, as soon as we got in the car he said “I have an idea, I guess you could call it a message from God…” Needless to say, I was very eager to hear it. His first idea was that our band could be called Full Moon, since the moon is what gives light in the darkness. He also wanted our focus to be to help the youth that are caught up in the hard rock scene and the darkness that they are in; to help them rebel against all that got them into the scene in the first place (drugs etc.). These ideas were good for me to hear, since I too had felt that the main reason for starting the band with A. should for this purpose.
So we jammed a bit at his place and talked inbetween about the other musicians we needed. He said he didn’t want to call any musicians he knew because they were all drug addicts and he asked me to pray to Jesus and ask Him to send some good musicians that would have the same goals—Not just anyone. As he was taking me home, we passed by a group of young people in a park all taking drugs. About twenty of them, and a farily common sight. He said to me “would you pull out your guitar and sing to those guys?” I said I would, that I’d done that many times before and he should stop the car. But he didn’t want to for fear of getting mugged. I guess his BMW attracted too much attention—I’m used to traveling in a fifteen-passenger van and mugging isn’t generally a problem, you could say ![]()
