Ferry

Took the Ferry back to Kuala Lumpor, we all got out of the car and went to the deck. My dad asked me if I remembered the ferry ride (my parents were in Malaysia when I was 5 years old, they were traveling with a total of 7 kids, from 9 months to 12 years old!). I didn’t but I couldn’t figure out how they managed, with so many of us kids.
I remember a few things, like going on a jungle walk and a grass snake crawling across my lap while I was eating a picnic lunch. I was quite oblivious until my mom screamed. My dad actually grew up on the rubber estate his dad managed so he has some crazy snake stories.
Back In KL we went to spend some time with my Grandmother. We walked around her garden together. It’s really pretty, with a large variety of orchids.
(Deepa is on a brief hiatus from active missionary work. She’s currently traveling to visit family in SE Asia and Canada before returning to India. Enjoy her travelog!)
