Home again

Arrived in India (Chennai). My dad is taking off again though, flying to Sri Lanka for Tsunami relief work*. The rest of us are going home to Bangalore. Dad dropped us off at the train station and went to the airport. I read, prayed, and pulled my hair out on the train (it was the chair car). The hours of traveling are getting to me, I just want a good nights sleep. Got home by 10:30pm, talked to my mom, kissed my already sleeping brothers and sisters, then went and crashed myself.
The next day I spent some time with Jesus, praying and reading His Word, I have quite a bit to catch up on. The rest of the day was all about unpacking and sleeping
I am happy to be home, but I haven’t really settled in yet. I wanted to give my little brothers (ages ten and five) their gifts this evening but unfortunately my other little brother changed the numbers on the combination lock and I couldn’t remember the number (it’s my dads suitcase). My brothers were disappointed, but they were so cute, they both laid hands on the suitcase and prayed for it to open. After awhile I explained to them sometimes God answers our prayers with a “wait”. They settled (for now) with me just telling them exactly what was inside the suitcase. I’m happy because I know that dad will get to give the presents too them himself now. I know he wanted to since he really missed them on our trip and probably misses them even more now. He’s been away a lot recently. Since the 26th of December he has only been at home about 4 weeks altogether. He’s been doing non-stop Tsunami relief-work. I was able to spend a few weeks in the affected areas helping him earlier this year, and needless to say, it was a huge learning experience for me and quite life changing.
*Editor: work continues in earnest to relieve the hundreds of thousands of people in many countries who were displaced by the Tsunami of December, 2004. An informative article on the subject of conditions today can be found here here.
