New school year

Getting ready to start a new school year and a valuable member of our teaching team is moving to another home so change is in the air! This last week has been a whirlwind of meetings and prophecy sessions to determine our goals and plans for the next few months. After all the teachers meetings we had a meeting with the kids (I have a real dilemma knowing what to call them when I address them together, because their ages range from 10 – 15, I usually settle for ‘guys’ but it doesn’t sound right…any suggestions??) explaining the goals for the new school year, what they can expect from us teachers and what we will expect from them as students. It went better than I expected, considering we are implementing a very regimented school day schedule, since everything happens at home sometimes things can start to slide, but the benefits of home schooling outweigh the con’s at the end of the day. I was home schooled my whole life, and I feel very privileged!
Had a Dinner party for Steve, who is leaving tomorrow, it was great being with everyone (Yes, all 25 of us), after dinner, dishes, singing together, and being entertained with an impromptu skit by Steve (believe it or not there have been 2 Steve’s in my home) about Steve’s wonderful qualities and praying for his future, we progressed to a card game, and finally a movie (Bend it like Beckham).
