A walk with the kids

Joni writes: Yesterday I went for a walk with my kids in our neighborhood. Our plan was to go to a nearby store where a young girl works who had helped me by binding some books for free that are part of a music course for the children. We wanted to thank her and give her the opportunity to accept Jesus into her life. Of course many people here are Catholic or Christian and believe in Jesus, but a lot of them think that you have to be perfect to go to Heaven, or many just don’t know if they have eternal life or how to have it. The kids have learned a simple prayer in Spanish to pray with people that we meet to ask Jesus into their hearts and so we practiced that on our way to the store.
I have to say that we usually attract a lot of attention when we’re out –my kids and I, as I am young, have four little blond blue-eyed kids, and people stop us and ask if they’re all mine and like to pinch their cute cheeks etc
So on our way, one lady stopped to look at the children, we started talking and she asked me how I do it, how I’m able to take care of four children and obviously soon to be five. She has one small child and said that that in itself was a challenge. This gave me an opportunity to explain to her about our missionary work and how we live and work together with a couple of other families and we all help each other with the responsibilities including the care of the children. I told her I don’t think I’d be able to do it very easily without the help that I receive from the others in our home. Our lifestyle makes it possible to live my dream of having a lot of children and raising and caring for them very well. We gave her a tract and she repeated the prayer with Chad (5). Our friend from the store ended up not being there but I believe it was the Lord’s plan for us to meet this other lady and touch her life with Jesus.
