Visa

Got up at 5:00 am which is not the usual—especially not on vacation (I’m more of a 6:30 kinda a girl). Spent like, two hours on a bus (where I unwittingly sat next to a drunk man who spilt his pop all over me… crazy things happen) and then some more time on the ‘Sky Train’ making our way to downtown Vancouver. Got to the Indian Embassy by 9:00 just as it was opening, which meant we beat the crowd and got our paperwork done pretty early. We’re applying for long term Indian Visa’s.
Walked a bit around the harbour, on a beautiful summer day you just want to be outside. Went for lunch with a friend that we know from India. Got to meet her family and it was wonderful. It was the most witnessing I’ve been able to do in a while, so I feel good!
My big brother took us to the movies and we watched “The Wedding Crashers.” Quite funny!
Going to spend the next few days traveling Inland a bit to meet relatives. I’ll tell you how it went when I get back.
(Deepa is on a brief hiatus from active missionary work. She is traveling to visit family in SE Asia and Canada before returning to India. Enjoy her travelog!)
