Life in The Family International

Joni writes: Just spent three fabulous days with my Dad, 3 sisters and 1 brother that came down to visit us. I’m so happy they could come here. I am due to have my baby any day now, but was hoping that the baby would wait until after they left so I could spend some good time with them all instead of having to be in bed watching everyone else have fun. We packed our days with fun stuff—ate out, went down to the Zocalo (town square) here and visited all the little markets, spent one day at a nearby lake and found the most beautiful little marina complete with restaurant, pool and floating trampoline (the kids had a blast and swam—literally—all day).

Actually the place wasn’t really open but opened just for us and I guess we each got a good deal—they got the business and we enjoyed having this place all to ourselves for the day. We rented a boat and everyone (except me of course) tried out either wakeboarding or water skiing and got pulled along in one of those water tube things.

The next day we had a great asado (barbeque) at a dear friends house—steak and sushi…mmmmm. Oh…and they were here on my birthday! That was special and they made me feel special! I love my family so much and miss them. It was good to see them and was sweet of them to take the long drive to see us.

Vas and Joni are members of The Family International and are fulltime missionaries in Mexico. Vas helps to organize outreach, writes, records and produces music, plays in a band, performs and does shows, counsels young people and engages in evangelism. Joni teaches her four children, evangelises, performs and does shows, sings and records and assists The Family childcare board. More about Vas and Joni
