Countdown to Armageddon

A car pulled up in our driveway with four guys in it, just minutes after finishing our daily breakfast/devotions time. I only recognized two of them well; one was a local rapper, and the other, a producer in the music/video industry of Uganda. It was good to see them again, but I was wondering what brought them to our doorstep so early. The main guy I knew came up the porch and greeted me warmly, handing me the video documentary “Countdown to Armageddonâ€. He explained that he’d borrowed it four months ago, and apologized profusely for not having returned it sooner.
“I’ve watched it twenty times!†he exclaimed. “I know every line! It’s excellent, and I want to help you guys do an updated version of this, possibly even a better production.†His enthusiasm for the Endtime documentary was bubbling over as he expressed his desire to help us produce and market another one. I told him our technician was out of the country at the moment, but we’d definitely be discussing future plans.
I spoke with the rest of the guys briefly, and after their car pulled out, I pondered in my mind how much I take the wealth of spiritual resource that we have for granted. I must have watched this particular video a hundred times; I know it holds many truths, and yet it takes someone’s newborn enthusiasm to make me realize it.
