Gym
Joni writes: Something very cool that I wanted to tell you about is that we’ve all been going to the best gym in town…for FREE! It all started with a “lusting” after this awesome looking gym that we pass by frequently, and Vas had the idea that we could provision the use of it for everyone in our home. After delegating the job to someone with a prettier voice over the phone 
we waited for the miracle.
My dear friend had the perseverance to call and call and call again as it’s not always so easy here to get the managers, much less the owners on the phone. It turns out that quite a few people in the area have tried to speak with the owner and ask for free membership, so in between her calls she heard an earful of “do you know how many people have tried to provision the use of that gym?” type questions. (Definition of provisioning: asking people to help us with our needs for free or a discounted price because we are full-time volunteer missionaries) She didn’t care what people were saying, she was determined—good for her!
And it seemed the Lord blessed her determination and our prayers and after meeting with the owner, she said that she definitely wants to help us. They’ve given free membership to all the adults and teens in our home and more! I have to admit that I haven’t been there yet since I can’t work out just yet, but from what I hear it’s been really nice, complete with pools, sauna and Jacuzzis, and some of the teens have been going to a jazz class they have there—cool! I can’t wait to go! I think it will help us all to be consistent with our exercise. Really the best thing though are the friends we have made through this. The owner has been coming over weekly for our study and says “I want you all to be able to go to my gym so you can be healthy and better able to do your work for the Lord!” She is a precious lady who also is eager to know more about the Lord and the Bible. It’s just amazing the special treats the Lord gives us!
