More hospital painting

We painted more walls at the hospital today. Arrived at 3:30 pm. The volunteers I called up to help this time (it was their first time) were so enthused about the project that we didn’t leave the hospital till 9pm! Had a blast. It was really fun. One of my friends said half-jokingly, “You know, the future president of Uganda could be here in this ward! Fifty years from now, he’ll be like, “Yo, when I was a kid, I was nearly dying in Mulago, then these guys started painting and inspired me to live just one more day…’ So you know, I’m really doing my country a service!”
I was thrilled to see some of the young guys come back who helped us last time. This time they requested if we can do Mulago on Wednesday because they want to bring a bunch of their friends who need to do community service. Great idea! It’ll be fun. I see how this little project has inspired my friends to do something unique with their time. I’ve been hearing that our little hospital project has been in the newspapers but I haven’t even read the article myself.
