Yes, leaving… on an aeroplane

I’ve recieved a number of emails in the last couple of days questioning that last email…and I realize now I didn’t explain in most of my updates that I was finally going home to the Philippines.
Actually, I was supposed to have left last June, but have kept postponing till now. You may wonder why, as I love Uganda so much and it has become my “home away from home”, why am I going back?
Well, I believe there is a time for everything, and having been away from the one-dozen siblings, now seems the time to spend as “quality time” with family. Five years ago, my loving parents gave me to the Lord and let me serve Him as a volunteer overseas. Since then, I’ve only had the chance (or was it the funding) to go back to visit them for ONE week, in transit to Sri Lanka, after the Southeast Asia Tsunami hit. (Thank you to the Mpore family for that sponsorship!)
So I plan to return and spend some time with them–leaving Africa indefinitely (that is, as Derek put it, “withIN the realm of definite”!) and perhaps when I return, I may bring more Martinezes with me…who knows???
THANK YOU, everyone who contributed to the sponsorship of my return home–for you I am grateful. My team here at Radioactive has been my support base and second family. You guys put up with me day after day–real love! Gus, Vanna, Kaycee, Borealis, Happy the Clown, Sunshine, The Aliens, Brain White, Bloody Mary, Robin, Ben, Kathleen, Cel, Shane, Jo and the blonde kids-I love you all.
Dear God,
For Life and its perplexities,
For Existence and its mysteries,
For this journey to my Destiny,
I thank thee.
For the Darkness that is soon to pass,
For the Thorns which have pierced me at last,
For the Lessons I am learning fast,
I thank Thee.
For the Will which You have given me,
To choose Your Will, tho’ I do not see
For the Love I’ll know for Eternity,
I THANK THEE.
Will stay in touch with more updates as life continues…the plan is to continue volunteer work in Manila as well. If any of you would like to keep supporting me and my missionary family, well, we need all the help we can get. Here’s a picture with my younger siblings, mom, and dad.
