Life in The Family International

Vas writes: Here’s two songs you can download that I wrote for my wife, Joni–since my last post was about her. “I’m in love” I wrote before we were married. I went to Japan for two weeks and was missing her terribly. I think that time was one of the things that showed me I couldn’t live without her and I was crazy about her. So when I arrived back in DC she just so happened to be on a trip that was supposed to arrive back home in DC the day before but for some reason was delayed. I could not handle it and there was no way of knowing when she would be back because she was actually traveling. So I was a little hurt and thought that she didn’t care if she was back to welcome me home. I stayed up all night and wrote this song for her. I couldn’t think about anything else. Around 5am I had a strong feeling that she would be back soon. Probably because I hadn’t heard from her so I assumed they were booking it to get back. I’m not psychic, I don’t think.

Anyway I took out the bottle of sake that I brought back for us to enjoy and set up some little snacks real nice and romantic. At least I thought so. I was in a pretty mushy mood. Before I finish this story I need to explain my room was a studio where I recorded and produced music. My bed folded out of the wall to save space. Studio by day and bachelor pad at night. And it was down in the basement so I could close it up and it would be completely dark so you couldn’t tell if it was day or night.

I had some fancy lighting going on down there. Not really just some black lights and if I turned on all my equiptment all the little various colored LEDs would light up and look real cool. Ok back to the story. So she came in at around 5:30 to find me with my guitar ready to play her the song I wrote for her and a cool romantic spread. Don’t take that the wrong way. She immediately told me that it was someone elses fault she wasn’t back when I got home and I happily believed her. I sang her this song and I’ll let you imagine the rest but it won’t come close to what it really was.

Anyway, I thank God everyday that he did the miracle of rigging joni’s heart to agree to marry me. I also sang this song to her on our wedding day. Well, I’ll tell you the story about “Shake your little tail” next time. And I haven’t forgotten…I really do want to tell you all about my trip.
