Memories of Mumbai

I flew to Bombay in the evening – a short one and a half hour flight. The airports seem to be getting much better and cleaner. Especially the Bombay Airport! Oh yes, the Mumbai airport -what memories!! Mumbai was where I first landed in India when I was a young 16 year old. It seems like so long ago, but now being here it feels like just yesterday.
I still remember my first reaction when stepping into India; - get me back in that plane NOW!
The fact that the monsoon had just started in this huge city didn’t exactly help much either.
Now I just smile and sigh a sigh of relief that I never went back on that plane and thank God that He sent me here. I have been a missionary with The Family International in many other countries, even third world ones – but India does hold a certain fascination with me. Maybe it’s the challenge, I can’t quite put my finger on it but I don’t think I would be happier serving Him anywhere else. As we drove through the city, I thought a bit about everything that has happened since coming here……..that would take a while to write so I’ll leave it to my thoughts. Couldn’t help but miss my daughter who is at home for the first time without me (getting weaned). Oh Kaila I miss you so much!! And oh Daddy, I’m praying for you! LOL!
