Kolkata

Hi Everyone! I’m taking off early in the morning to a far off city called Kolkata! Thats where my mom lives, so I’m finally going to visit her with Kaila for the first time since she was born. Mom is already ever so excited! One of the projects that The Family International has there in Kolkata is running a school for 550 children from surrounding village areas. It sounds really interesting and I hope I will be able to take a look at it, since we run a smaller one here for only 15 slum kids.
Right now we have about seven people from our home attending a one month Missionary Training Academy so the house is pretty empty and breezy. These are mainly teens in the 17-18 age brackets who have made the decision to dedicate their lives to serving Him and others in The Family! Hats off to them! They will be receiving training in a variety of professions that are undertaken in The Family, some of which they will choose between. They were all so excited before they left on their 24-hour train journey, and today is their second day there! I get little SMS messages here and there about how it’s going, but nothing too long or detailed so I figure they’re pretty busy. OK, ppl will keep you updated on life here, but for now I have to finish packing so I can catch my 6:30 am flight!
