Vacation photos

Joni writes: So we’re two days into our vacation time with our kids, and we’re having a blast. Vas wrote up a schedule for the 5 days and it’s packed with fun (he’s such a good dad!) Today we went to a totally, utterly gorgeous place—Hotel Vista Hermosa, it was in a little town close to where we live. I mean, I didn’t even know something so beautiful existed so close by. Ok, so it’s one of the haciendas’s that Cortez (the Spanish conquistador) built and I just happen to be someone that is fascinated by ruins. I like to feel like I’m going back in time—heh. I’ve always thought that I would love to be an archaeologist, digging up old “stuff”. But this place was too cool!
My good friend spent some of her precious time to make a call to the owner of this place to ask if he would let us come for a day and use the facilities, and he said yes! We swam in a gorgeous pool, rode horses, enjoyed a meal (also given to us by the owners) explored all these incredible rooms and even went down to what used to be the dungeon where he kept slaves (naughty slaves.) I just absolutely loved it! It was like paradise! Another kinda cool thing was that it seemed there was hardly anyone else here…except the keepers of the grounds etc. so that added to the restful, paradise feeling a bit.
