Culture week

I’ve been pretty stressed lately, with bills to pay, kids to raise, teenage tantrums to calm… but you know what? The Lord is so special, how He sees to our needs and even our wants sometimes, to give us a good life.
Like this week, for example, He knows I’m into the arts and stuff, so He neatly arranged for me to attend different functions and fun activities. On Wednesday I joined an art club to hone my painting skills; that evening I also watched a foreign film with a friend. The next day after our weekly trip to the hospital where we take care of kids with cancer, I got to have some radio training in one of the studios here (we’re working on a project but I was afraid I was swamped with too much other work to complete it). Then that night someone gave my sister and I tickets to a theater play! The next day, the kids were invited to swim in a nice pool, so I took them for a full day of fun in the sun, then that evening mom and I went with friends to a jazz bar… it was “oldies night” but mom enjoyed herself! And within two days I recieved invites to four other art gallery openings. Had drama night with the kids just now, and since it was the weekend, we did art projects all day.
It’s one thing that never ceases to amaze me… how God seems to always know when it’s ok to give us the things we want, perhaps to encourage our hearts and to give us a break in our hectic lives. Sweet. Like I said before, every day has been pretty much a test of faith. But the Lord is good, and the benefits outweigh the sacrifices He asks us to make.
