The Distinguished Gentlemen, part 2

We were able to invite the two Distinguished Gentlemen home last week. We didn’t dare go into this meeting without a lot of prayer and really asking God what His plan was—so we took an evening to plan their visit. We received some very specific instruction, from everything from what snacks to serve to which songs to sing, conversations topics etc.
We called them on the appointed day, and they were not able to make it!!!! Our hearts sank, to say the least, but after all this work and prayer we decided not to give up. We would try for the next day. That night our friend called and confirmed his visit the next day. We breathed a sigh of relief and went to bed anticipating what the next day would hold. Something interesting is that when we had met him beforehand he had asked how he could be of help to our work, and at that time we didn’t ask for anything specific. At our planning meeting we again discussed this question: what if he asked us how he could help? A verse came to our minds “Whatsoever thou spendest I will repay” along with a feeling to not ask for anything at all. Two of us at that time got a figure, and told everyone, but we left it since we had not gotten the feeling to ask for anything but instead to make sure they had a good time and felt Gods love through this visit. So we went on preparing for the visit, and even spent a day learning a song in his native language.
The next day we called him again and he apologetically explained he couldn’t make it!!! This time we told him how the children were waiting to see him, and thank God he did make it for about half an hour. He was in a hurry, but the visit went extremely well. The children were able to perform for him and sing him ‘You are God’s Child’ and shower him with hugs! He was totally taken by the kids! He had to rush off, but before doing so he took me aside to speak to me and thanked me for the visit. I was able to give him some ‘Motivated’ magazines which he was very thankful for. He quickly gave me a wad of money as a donation for our work and thanked us for the performance. After thanking him, exchanging email addresses, and seeing him off I decided to check on that wad that he had given. It was EXACTLY the same amount that we had received in our minds when praying about the visit! I was almost not even surprised, what else could it have been?
In The Family, the Lord does miracles of supply for us every day, so as much as we were thankful for the donation, what really was special was the way God spoke to us giving us His plan for the evening, His foresight and His mind on the matter. I am so amazed more and more each day at this gift, and my faith in Him speaking to our hearts has really increased. It pays to obey Him!

Good for you, taking the initiative with your sheep, I guess that puts the Lord on the spot, and your seeing the blessings! WOW! Love and hugs, Cid.
