Back in India…

We are back in India after a wonderful family reunion! It was great to get to know Marco and Theo and to see my sister-in-law Lisa again. I shall post some photos of the trip soon. The first week back home in India was a little tough. The things that first shocked me about India shocked me all over again! It was ridiculous really, because I have lived here for seven years, but nevertheless the smells, dirt, sights and sounds all hit me again. I was exceptionally quiet the first week and prayed that this feeling would go away. And also that I would again find the joy I felt when working here before. My prayer was answered yesterday when I went out on one of our Outreach activities. I met exceptionally sweet people at every appointment and people who told me how much they admired what we are doing. One man said that every time I called him up he would feel so convicted to help his countrymen, and thanked us for being so sincere and honest in our work. I know this was the Lords special encouragement for me, that yes, we ARE making a difference, both in peoples physical and spiritual lives and it is more than worth it to give our lives for others. I don’t think that I would be fulfilled living my “perfect little life” especially after knowing what the situation is like over here and not doing anything about it.
So. Living for God rocks—that is my thought for today!
