Protection

Sara and Vincent

Have you ever experienced a sixth sense where you just have a feeling about something so strongly that you can’t put it off? Well, I guess in The Family International we refer to that as God’s voice in our hearts, but I want to tell you about this experience I just had during one of our travels.

We were off to a set of meetings, and we had decided to take a particular overnight bus. We had prayed and we all were sure that we needed to get away for our meetings where we could concentrate, away from all the busy hubbub of our homes. Whaddaya know, I just had this eerie feeling about the bus ride, so much that it was impossible to forget about it. Now, I have been on my fair share of rides all around India and some that were pretty, lets say, memorable, and it’s not like it was something new so it was pretty strange that I would feel this way.

We got on, and I immediately started SMSing everyone I could and asked them to pray for our safety. I SMS’ed maybe 10 ppl and they got together with groups and desperately prayed for our protection. That night I woke up 5 times to see trucks racing our way and we nearly missed 5 head-on collisions. This driver was convinced this bus was a go-kart and he sure drove like it. Not only were there near head-on collisions, but we couldn’t even keep our fingers out the window because the buses and trucks passing by were such a close shave to our bus. The whole night we were desperately praying that we would make it safely, and we would again wake up to another near death experience. Ha!

Thank God He kept us safe and we made it in one piece. All I could think of was, ‘imagine if nobody was praying for us what would have happened’. Well, I’m glad to be alive and these days with so much going on in the world, I’m learning to treasure each day like my last! Prayer sure works! is my personal thought for the day!

‘Till next time.
