Cards and Horse Riding

The kids Carnival was a blast. What more can I say. 571 kids turned up and tried every game stall a number of times. There was bead work, basketball, horse riding, card making, goal scoring, shooting balloons with an airgun, lunch provided by one of the most prestigious hotels in town, a magic show, and gifts for the children on their way out. I think the best part was watching all the kids from the different institutions perform, they really put their all into it—and if you aren’t familiar with the dancing styles here you should watch some music videos; It’s pretty lively stuff! There was one little girl who I helped make a card with and then she wanted to go on the horses, so she led me by the hand outside and we had a little trot on one of the horses. She was so happy up there, hanging on to the saddle so tight. She did the sweetest thing and went back to the table where the card making was going on, and made me a card! ‘for you Aunty’ she said. What a sweetheart!
