Hey, that's a great tip. I love cooking with garlic, but hate that my hands smell like the stuff for days after. It's nice to have you here Flo. Wish I coulda been around longer in Cuer while you were there. You're a great writer! (I always thought so.)

The sports news in the Mercurio are more tabloid than the entertainment section now that all the jocks go out with models. I wonder if men (who read the sports sections) get more into gossip than women? How is that for stirring up some controversy for your site, Flo? Anyway, Remember the neighbor Mormons that used to come over a lot for ping pong tournaments and even some Bible studies? Then a couple went with us to the children´s hospital. It was quite funny to disguise these 2 meter blonds as clowns, and they went absolutely wild! And the kids loved them. (I dont think they'd murder anybody....gee whiz....)

So this is where you went to. Mormans are cool, they have a long history of persecution. All the ones I've met are the squeaky clean variety. By the way, if you've been working with tuna fish or mackerel a cool tip to get rid of the fishy smell on your fingers is to rub in a little lemon juice. Don't you just love kitchen tips?

Being that i live in Mormonville so to speak...maybe more like the Mormon Mecca... i can say that yes, they have been religiously persecuted often. They have tougher skins than most. My best friend is a devout mormon and though she knows my past (in TF), she has never once belittled me or tried to mormonize me. We respect eachothers religions (or lack thereof) and that's that. I find them to be one of the most unjudging people, no matter how ridiculous their faith may seem. And as for Warren Jeffs, well, he was the leader of the Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints (FLDS)- a totally different and disassociated cult than the regular LDS'. He is guilty of child abuse, rape, marriage of a minor to a senior citizen and i believe all of that. the FLDS' are weird. Really weird. Like backwards, hillbilly-but all in the name of God weird.

Dear Nina;
   I don't know who you are maybe you have firsthand knowledge of FLDS ... but the point Flo was making was not to trust media..only cookbooks...and you calling FLDS a cult and wierd,really wierd,backwards,hillbillyetc.guilty of childabuse rape sounds familiar...People probably called Joseph Smith
( founder of mormonism)..a few names too.

Poor Richard. Nina, what he's saying is that we're talking about not trusting the media. Unless we were there, how do we KNOW that he married a minor to a senior citizen etc...

No, i do not have FIRST-hand knowledge of the FLDS. If i had a chance to re-write my first comment i would. However, being on the FBI's top 10 list is not for no reason. Would you second-guess if Osama Bin Laden is guilty or not due to what we hear in the media? i think some people had some very justified complaints to get him on there. Not that i entirely trust the media, but c'mon people. Look up the FLDS' for crying out loud. How can you NOT hold him responsible for the child abuse that his cult caused under his rule? WHY was he running for a year and when caught had thousands of $$$$ in his car, plus plenty of different identities, pre-paid cellphones? This guy is guilty and he KNOWS it. Even if you don't agree. How many young women will be given the opportunity or chance to RUN now that he is captured??

*disclaimer* this has nothing to do with TF or however you feel i am associating it. I am strictly speaking of Warren Jeffs here.

P.s. Flo; I'm sorry. I'm not trying to hijack your thread with my apparently very strong opinions. I just think that maybe people should give appropriate respect to law enforcement and to those who live their lives trying to capture these predators and rid the world of their 'rule.' Ban me if you like. I live by what I believe in. Not by what someone tells me to. A while back i created a huge argument on someone's site about whether or not women should drink while pregnant. Apparently, this created a huge stir and i was flamed for a long time about it. But...if you consider, i've been pregnant 4 times and only born 2 live children.. you might think again before attacking my beliefs. And if you consider i was raised in a cult WHEN and WHERE they were abusing children, adults- impregnating children and i myself was molested at 7, you might understand. I understand that things are different now, however, i am more aware than ever of my children's safety. and if someone like Warren Jeffs is accused of child abuse, the very least that can be done is to capture him and look into the accusations. Running IMO was his verification of guilt.

Yea... well Richard got the point. I mean, if it were necessary to form a strong opinion on the FLDS (or anyone), I would sit down and do some real research. (And maybe you, Nina, feel you have.) Otherwise, while I may have my inclinations and suspicions and may live my life accordingly, I'm not going to make any sweeping statements or accusations based on what the media says. I just don't trust them enough.
