His magical love
In The Family International, different levels of membership allow for part-time jobs. I live with just my family, as a Missionary Member, and as you’ve probably noticed in my blogs, its been hard to make ends meet. He has provided in various ways, and promised us He would continue to if we kept on serving Him to the best of our ability… and He has been so faithful. Still, I was looking for a way to raise funds for our children’s needed school materials, and asked Him to open a door somewhere.
Well something really fun happened last week. After being stuck in this city smog for 8 months, a Travel TV Show writes me to ask if I can shoot with their crew for some hosting gigs, and write the stories. I almost couldn’t believe it… tho at the same time, I knew that all throughout my life, since the day I promised the Lord I would lose eveything to gain Him, He has given me EVERY one of my heart’s desires. So this was no exception.
What a fantastic answer to prayer! I’ve always wanted to be one of those who gets to travel around documenting it, eating weird things, and going to all kinds of awesome destinations for free!
My first project took me to some paradise islands where I went scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking, and dared myself to jump into a cave of wonders (bats, snakes, jellyfish, etc.) with water below. My team was so fun, we had a great time bonding, and I got to tell them all the stories I have of Africa, and India, sharing how it was my faith and many of the Lord’s miracles that took me to all those places…as well as learn from them, all that goes into the production of making a documentary.
The Lord is so awesome. I know it’s easy to forget how much he loves us, and our naturally negative mind tends to dwell on selective memory of the hardships and pain He often puts us through.
I was out there on the fourth day of shooting, in a kayak in the middle of blue water and clear skies, and I can tell you, I really felt the Lord there, enveloping me in the beauties of his Love, and the majesty of His Creation. When they took me down under the sea to shoot the Giant Corals, it was like He was bringing me to the depths of the earth, and telling me, "Wherever you go, I am there, and I love you, can’t you see?"
My share of hardships have been greater since coming here, but you know what they say–no testimony without a test. So every time I go through one of those "tests", I have learned to anticpate the testimony. And of course, say with pride, "I have NEVER made a sacrifice!"
