The Lord sees… He knows

Every 16th of September Mexico celebrates it’s “grito de independencia”, and wanting to cash in on some fun after restaurant-singing, we went to the local square to eat some elote (corn) and check out the festivities. Apparently in little towns like ours people start firing live ammo as the evening progresses… so we figured we’d be safer celebrating at home.
Being that we’re so fond of embarrassing ourselves we decided to drop in on the neighbors and sing them some traditional Mexican songs, but instead of finding them partying we found them in shock over some terrible health-related family news. I thought we might be intruding, but they assured us that we couldn’t have visited them at a better time and begged us to stay. It felt strange to be thanked over and over again for having helped them through such a difficult evening. “The Lord sent us, I guess, to pray with you and help you keep your eyes looking upward”. As we left we thought how cool it is to have the Lord engineering every part of our lives.

Being in the “right place at the right time” is one of those little miracles of life that remind you that Somebody is in control, y menos mal….
