Faith trips - Part 2

Kaycee and I had arrived at the roadtrip spot two days in advance, to "scout out the land" and try to book some opportunities to promote the Activated magazine. I’ll stick to one story from our travels for today, something that happened on our first day in this city.
A day before the team arrived, I called up Malini, a Family member from the city we were in and asked her about some hospitals that we used to go to. She directed me to two of them and then later asked if she could come along too! I later realized what it would have been like without her—so thank God she made it. First things first, we got lost on the way, since we weren’t exactly familiar with the city and much less the area of town that this hospital was in. The roads began to get murkier and the area more dingy, when we finally arrived (after a series of consecutive circles) at the hospital. This was a low budget hospital mainly for people who can’t afford to pay much. Just getting in was a miracle because it was officially nap time there! Malini just kept asking until we received permission from the sister in charge to meet and interact with the patients. Our adventure had begun, and that day we were able to pray with and for 200 patients, and make them happy with our singing and conversation. We also brought along some animal balloons to make for the kids, who were thrilled as they had never seen anything like that before.
The Activated mag went out to those who wanted them, and we were able to pray with people in Hindi, Telugu, and English. I can truly say everyone who went into that hospital did not come out the same. That day we were face to face with people who were on the verge of death, with others who were suffering a great deal, and that day we met many mothers who had their first child and wanted prayer to be a good parent and care for their child. It was heartbreaking, to say the least, to see these kids wrapped in rags with filthy bottles stuck in their mouths, and I don’t think I was the only one to shed a tear on the way. One thing each of us experienced was the minute we got in there we felt a great love for each of these people, it was almost as if Jesus was trying to tell us that each of these were his special creation. It must have been a touch of Gods love reaching out to these, His loved ones too!

I really admire you guy`s for going to a place like that, so much suffering, pain, I`ve always shirked from those type of situations, just seeing the suffering of especially the kids and babies, makes me feel so helpless, I want to take their pain away, make them better, what can I give them? , looking at things in the physical, there seems to be no hope for them, who will be there for them tomorrow? and the next day? God help me, I need to see these things with the Lords perspective, how do you do it? What helps you to not dispair? sometimes it`s hard for me to accept the way things are, the lacks, the injustices, it looks like you are so close to real life, at least what the majority of people are living like, God bless you for being there, love - Cid.
