Faith trips - Part 3

I have always believed that there is healing power through prayer and through Jesus, and I have seen miracles many times in my life. I really have to tell you (and perhaps reminisce myself at the same time) about the wonderful woman I met at one of the hospitals we visited during our road trip.
As we entered the ward she was beaming with a smile and welcomed us into the room she was sharing with at least 15 others. She had Chicken Gunya, a disease carried by mosquitoes that affects the joints and is accompanied by a very high fever. It’s somewhat similar to malaria, and the effects can affect you for a lifetime if they are not taken care of properly. We had finished singing to everyone in the room, and the first thing she said is that she felt a light from us that she had never seen, a special warmth, but she couldn’t quite describe it as her English was poor. We had prayed with her, but not specifically for her healing and we went on to the next ward. As we were walking she ran out with her mother and asked us to bless her. I thought she must have gone nuts by now with that disease and it was better to just leave. But she didn’t think the same and wasn’t about to leave. She asked us to pray for her healing and to put our hands on her head. I heard a small voice telling me to do it (even though I was already feeling like I’d contracted some kind of disease by this time too!)
Still, we did not want to fail these sweet girls and though there was a crowd gathering and we felt a bit uncomfortable we went ahead and put our hands on their heads and prayed a full of faith prayer for their healing. As I was praying for her I felt my hands getting warm—my palms were all hot and I had this strange feeling. After we finished I decided not to say anything and just encourage them and move on, but she started bubbling over with excitement trying to tell me something. Malini translated for me that this woman had felt a warm sensation from her head sweeping her body all the way down to her toes and she was sure that everything was going to be alright now! We all got a shiver or two and just stood there for a while and praised Him for the miracle He had done! The faith of these simple people was outstanding and as Jesus said "thy faith hath made thee whole," I believe their simple faith in Jesus and His healing power is what brought about the miracle.
It’s amazing that He can use a bunch of girls like us who are pretty nuts at times and don’t know what we are doing half the time to be channels of His love and power! So, that was the story of the Chicken Gunya lady at the hospital. Lord be with her!
