Addfest, Day 3

Day Three:
By today everyone is getting quite comfortable around each other, and with the rain that graces us every couple of hours with a friendly shower. Something that I thought was noteworthy, was our situation with the power cuts. (those of you who have lived here will know what I mean).
We would have all of our main meetings and activities in the main air-conditioned hall, and precisely when one of these was taking place the power would go off. Many times in fact. Well, here is the amazing thing. We always prayed for the power to come back on, and every time the power came back on right at the end of our prayer. Sometimes we prayed just when the power turned off, and sometimes a while later, sometimes a little later – but still it would come on just as we were finished with our prayer. Isn’t that cool. It happened to me three times, and to others too – say a total of 8 times. Sometimes the Lord just has to give us these signs to sort of remind that He is around in a very real way. I think the Lord chose to do it that way for the sake of the 100 teens that were there in that room.
The musical evening was a bit quieter today, but in every way just as good as the other music nights that were held. This evening everyone was sitting still (which did considerably reduce the sweaty atmosphere) and listening as the musicians spoke before or after each song. The songs were beautiful, and something that was interesting for me was to hear how each song was received. Of course I do love most of the songs, but there is always that one song that you just don’t really get but you don’t mind it either. So to hear those songs explained and to know in what context they were written was cool for me. It was indeed a special spiritual experience.
Off we went to the bungalow to sleep, but not before downing a cold beer. Ahh…
…I don’t exactly remember if this was one of the evenings that we went to bed giggling about nothing, but it probably was.
