Chad’s birthday
Joni: Chad’s birthday was the on 19th–we had a great party. I wanted to make it special in some way so I had thought originally to find a fun kiddie place to go to, but when I opened the phone book there were all these places that rented those jumping things filled with air–Inflatables (I don’t know what they’re called in English) and I got to thinking that we have such a beautiful yard and home, it would be nice to enjoy it and just have the party here and getting one of those for a birthday party is something we’ve never done before. The first place I call I’m able to talk with the owner, which in itself is a miracle, I explain to him that we dedicate our full-time to helping others with their spiritual and physical needs and asked him if would loan us one of those inflatables for my son’s birthday party….and he says yes!! I was so happy, and I think having that made his birthday real special. The kids jumped on it morning ’til night and some the next day before they came to pick it up. We invited over a nearby home so he could enjoy his birthday with his friends.
Vas went out to get a cake but the traffic was SO thick it would’ve taken him an hour and a half or so to get through it and come back so he, being the creative person that he is, went to our corner store, got a bunch of doughnuts and placed them all together on a big tray to substitute for a cake. It looked really good and the kids and adults alike loved it. As you can see in the pics, our pinata (incidentally that someone also gave us) started ripping and we were only a quarter of the way through the line up of kids so….we used practically a whole roll of tape on it and it lasted till everyone had a turn–whew! Thanks Mom for the legos. Playing with those is one of the highlights of each day for all the kids. Click here to check out the pictures of his party in the gallery.
