Market trip

Joni: We go to the central market here every week to visit with our friends who donate vegetables, fruit, dry goods, cheese etc. weekly. Today I accompanied our home member that faithfully goes every week. I enjoyed doing something different. I have to admit that I’m very attached to teaching academics to the kids in the morning, which is when the market trip happens, and I love my job… but it was fun to do something different and someone stepped in for me with schooling the children. We prayed with some people to recieve Jesus and chatted with others about themselves, their children and what they face in their daily lives.
One dear man that helps us with his whole heart and gives as much as he can is really going through hard times with some family problems. It was a miracle that we were even able to talk and connect with him as we had gone to his store three times earlier in the morning only to have just missed him. We were about to leave the market place when we decided to give it another try and he was there. He started talking with us almost in tears about his situation and we were able to pray with him and for him and try to comfort him. We let him know that we would keep him in our prayers and reminded him that the Lord loves him very much and has everything under His control. Also, tomorrow is Chad’s birthday so someone gave us a pinata, another person gave us some birthday tablecloths and someone else some M n’ Ms. We did a little shopping for snacks etc. for Chad’s big day and that was fun. People are just really very nice in this city and everyone was so friendly. Someone even gave us a gift for him.
