14 countries and counting…

Earlier this month I was able to attend and blog about a Family Youth Camp held here in Mexico, where I am now living. That’s right… in the Family you can be living in Guatemala one moment, then suddenly find yourself living in Mexico the next. Because part of the creed of a Christian and missionary means “going into all the world and preaching the the Gospel to every creature”, many members of the Family International have lived and worked in many countries in their lifetime. Now that I’ve been to Guatemala, my “countries I’ve lived in” count is up to 14. Still, this is a paltry number compared to some of the the other Family missionaries I know.

So anway, attended the BLAST camp (as did Florecita, who blogged about it this week) and then have been busy with many projects and Family duties. You may find that activity at LTC will be a little slower as all of our bloggers move into fulltime Christmas mode. Christmas is easily one of the best times of the year to talk to people about Jesus. We’ll cover that topic more indepth in an upcoming “Five questions about…” series. For now, we’ll leave you with this thought:

Christmas is a time for giving

Christmas is synonymous with giving, and our model of perfect giving is Jesus. Someone who followed His example well was Mother Teresa. Working among the poor of Calcutta, she inspired millions with her selfless love.

“I see Jesus in every human being,” she said recently. “I say to myself, this is hungry Jesus, I must feed him. This is sick Jesus. This one has leprosy or gangrene; I must wash him and tend to him. I serve because I love Jesus.” Only someone who knows Christ’s love and has responded to it by passing it on could understand what Mother Teresa means.

Here’s praying that your week is a good one. Thanks for reading!
