Success and failure

I read once in an Ikea postcard: “The only time you don’t make mistakes is when you’re sleeping”.
I thought that was funny because what if you’re sleeping with the wrong person? Now that is a classic mistake. Still, it’s good to remember that every mistake brings you one step closer to success. In looking back at what I’ve accomplished over the past 6 months, my idealistic self wishes so much more would be done by now… but the reality is that I’ve only done what I’ve done. Discouraging? Only if I allow it to be. Thomas Edison ruled out the option of giving up. I love his attitude in saying:
I have not failed 700 times. I have not failed once.
I have succeeded in proving that those 700 ways will not work.
When I have eliminated the ways that will not work, I will find the way that will work.
I will, I will. You’ll see!
