Unsung heroes

We held a large event for our friends, supporters, and new acquaintances on November 18th. I’ll give you a little picture of the day before the event. Hustle, bustle….
“oh sure, it’s wonderful we won’t be able to do a complete run through because the script is not done.”
“Oh really, that’s brilliant, we’d better pray.”
“Yes, that harmony was quite off key, please sing the melody softly… heh”’
“You know, we just realized the dancers don’t have matching costumes for our opening song.”
And so on and so forth…
Those of you who participate in big shows are no doubt familiar with these situations. Well, I was familiar with having to Emcee and not having a final script till the night before, but this time I was to co-host with a friend of the The Family who is a businessman and quite respected here. I am not used to performing with an older Indian gentlemen, and the humor can be quite diverse (but nevertheless exactly what goes here!) So, boy was I desperate! We all were! In fact the company who came to set up the stage was 4 hours late which didn’t help the situation much. In spite of all the seeming impossibilities, the show was a terrific success with many of our friends and supporters moved to tears. We thanked them for making all our projects possible throughout the year, and had the dancers go out into the audience with roses while the song ‘Unsung Heroes’ played (which fellow blogger Vas sings.)
A wonderful event!
