What does Christmas mean to you?

The frills of Christmas lost their appeal after a few really hectic seasons, so I decided I’d try to focus on love and smiles. So now I guess it means to me a time to maximize on the amount of love you can give. I like Christmases that are full of intimate moments, whether they be with your family, at an orphanage, on the street, etc.

Tell us a special Christmas story—a Christmas miracle or something fun that happened when you were young?

Well, one of my happy Christmas memories was the first Christmas I spent in Chile. We were just a few people with a small budget, fixing up a huge house, and so we made all the Christmas decorations from scratch. I remember sewing little doves and coloring eggshells on the porch for hours in the afternoon sun. They came out hideous, but it’s definitely a happy memory.

After many years of doing office-type missionary work, Florecita is testing her hand as a field missionary. She is currently the counselor of a group of teenagers, does outreach, restaurant singing… and anything that is needed to help her center and its projects keep momentum. She is also an aficionado of photography and hopes that with it she can show the world a little more of The Family International, its projects, and the wonderful people in it. More about Flo
