Evaluations

We tried something a bit new this year—we made personal evaluations for each person in our Family home. Since the New Year is a wonderful time to make goals, resolutions (that you intend to keep), and especially goals in areas that we all want to do better in like our personal relations with others, we took on this form of evaluating each other. We just took a piece of paper with the names of each home member and closed our eyes and prayed about anything that we could suggest to that person. I received many evaluations, some of which were not so easy to take, but it’s amazing when you get beyond that feeling of being so humbled and resolve to do better—the amount of freedom that you feel afterwards. It’s like shedding a weight, but you don’t really want to admit it’s there or you are embarrassed about it so you keep carrying it. When you finally realize you are better off without it, you don’t mind if it gives a pinch to your pride.
Cheers to our goals for the New Year!
