Singing

Vas: Well last night the bad news is that I learned a Spanish song that’s quite popular here in Mexico and the public knows it like the back of their hand, but when it came time to play it live at the night club I completely went blank and sang it completely wrong. I was saved by the fact that the audience knew it so well they started singing it with me and what was even more of a help was the keyboard player who is helping us right now until we get our permanent keyboard/guitar player had access to a mic and helped sing it.

Aside from being very embarrassed during the performance, the General Manager just happened to be up in the sound booth listening to us through the headphones and later commented that the song sounded a bit funny and needed better pronunciation. But the good news is the rest of the night went very well and made up for this unfortunate mishap as well as what’s even more exciting to me is that four people prayed with us to ask Jesus in their hearts and two people–Caesar and Monica–want to start coming over for Bible studies. Also, I met a young couple, Juan and Alyssa, who just had their first child and when they found out that I have 5 kids and one on the way they immediately wanted to get together and meet the rest of my family as they said in this day and age it seems the in thing is to is have small families but they too would like to have a large family so they would like to talk and hear our feeling and ideas on this subject. I explained that for me the most enjoyable thing about life is my children as well as the fact that this gift of God is to be our priority. So all in all it was a good night with some new friends and an exchange of phone numbers

Hey, I know this is off topic, but I don’t know how to navigate this site yet. Just want to tell you guys that you all seem great and seem to be enjoying doing God’s work. My wife and I are currently trying to learn more about your organization. I know of the negative press and all, but you can find that stuff anywhere if you look hard enough. Would love to pack up and join a missionary group. The only problem is that we are not members. I have written out and got a response by some dude named Drew who has been very helpful. Hopefully, we will meet sometime in the future. Peace.

Hey Tina tx for understanding. Cid I’ll be writing you, and Justin If I can be a help in any way in getting you to learn more about our organization, pls feel free to state your questions here and if I can answer them I sure will. Our goal, and my personal goal is to help people learn more about Jesus and how to serve him better and this is the main reason I am in the Family. I guess another big reason is that in the Family, practically everyone I know are really nice people, truly concerned about my well being and this is very rare, so this makes it a lot easier for me to serve the Lord and enjoy it as well, but I know there are a lot of people that are not members of the Family who also are very nice and serve the Lord sacrificially and have a genuine love for God, and this to me is what’s most important regardless of the organization. I don’t know if this helps understand a little more about the Family but at least it hopfully helps you understand a little bit about me. I love you man, tx for writing.

Thanks for your response. Yeah, I do have some questions for you. So, what does a typical day consist of? I am not a very pious person. My wife and I were both raised Catholic and have kind of lost our way from the church. Am not too big of a fan of the hypocrisy I associate with organized religion. I know we both have a spiritual void to fill and don’t know where to get the fix so to speak. We have tried other churches, but really didn’t fit in. I don’t understand what it means to give my life over to God. Does that mean to change everything about ourselves? I meet people all the time with that gleam in their eye and the self-assuredness that they are saved. I wouldn’t mind having that, but I don’t want to have to change to Ned Flanders to do it. Some churches seem very strict as far as what you can and cannot do. You guys seem to have a lot of fun. What does a typical day consist of. How stringent are you towards the secular society? I do not always have access to the internet, so if you want to write to my email address I gave you feel free. Thanks for all your time. You guys seem great.
