Walk a mile

I was just sitting today thinking to myself ( ok so it’s my day off and I have some time to think!) about that old saying that was about ‘walking a mile in somebody’s shoes’. I remember the year before last when I had a newborn baby I would sometimes think how much easier the performing team had it then the rest of us, and especially the parents. In my mind, they always got to go out, eat in the best places, meet interesting ppl, and didn’t really have the physical workload that some of us had. So, the year after that, when Kaila was over a year old I was asked to join the team. Ooops.
Well, it was a year of stretching to say the least, and though it was difficult I learned many things. I had to learn how to Emcee quite proficiently, how to sing (haven’t mastered that too professionally yet though) write scripts for plays and what have you. To be honest, when I found out I was pregnant I was quite happy that for a while I would have a break from performing.
Now I find myself 7 months pregnant, not exactly stage happy, but happy nevertheless. Happy that I can appreciate the work of others like Joe and Sunshine (our two lead singers) and also happy that in the Lords’ work you really never know what’s around the corner. Even though now my main job will be with the babies, it really doesn’t mean that I will never get a chance to try anything else again and I’m sure that although I am a parent of course that is always your biggest job, the Lord will bring surprises here and there that will stretch me as a person and keep me active.
So anyway, here is a pic of us last year on a Saturday evening right before our show. The mosquitoes were all out that evening so you can sort of see it……but just so you know they are not sitting on us, they are buzzing in front of us
