Ramnad District project

Vin is off tonight on a bus to a small village in Ramnad District, where he will be the official photographer for an exciting event. This village is on the East Coast of Tamil Nadu and was one of the villages that suffered greatly after the Tsunami struck. Members of The Family International have been assisting with efforts to build a hostel and a school there, and tomorrow the project is to be inaugurated and the school opened! This hostel will prevent the children from having to walk to school for 5 kms one wayand then 5 back every day. Instead they will simply stay there the week (like a boarding school) and then return home on the weekends. Tomorrow will be an exciting day for us and something that we have anticipated for a while now!
Here’s a small map, and the red dot on the map shows the location of the village, which is quite near to Sri Lanka. Our rehabilitation and humanitarian efforts are still going strong in the Tsunami affected areas of South India and we hope to keep you updated on it! Ciao for now, pray for Vins journey - those buses can be.pretty dangerous.
