To Argentina

It appears that I forgot to mention that my little family (oh how weird, we’re a family now!) will be moving to Argentina soon. We have absolutely loved Mexico and the people in it and are not leaving for greener pastures. The thing is that been invited to work on a project that is right up my husband’s artistic alley, so we’re fixing to take a shot at it and see how things go.
Mexico is not an easy country to leave behind, and I pray my son will some day get to know the nation in which he was born. I hope he will be proud of the fact that he was born in Morelos, the heart of Mexico, and the land of Emiliano Zapata. I’ll tell him about the little town of Jiutepec with its 200 yr. old church, our mariachi friends, the insane amount of fireworks and holidays that are celebrated around here, the food we’ve eaten and the things we’ve seen. But I’ll tell him that what makes Mexico unforgettable is the big-hearted nature of its people. I hope that as the world climate changes the warmth of this country stays the same.

Our daughter was born in Argentina and we also hope one day our daughter will know the same things as your son about their birth place. Argentina is very different from Mexico – the people, the foods, the landscape, the accent, but I think you’ll find the contrasts interesting. Good luck on your journey.

I too miss Mexico, even though I only lived there for a short time. It will forever be dear to my heart and I pray that when we’re finished here with what the Lord has us doing, that we can move back and my son will learn to love Mexico as I do.
