Life in The Family International

Today, my 26th birthday, starts midday, after recovering from lastnight…eh heh. A handful of friends organized a private jaccuzzi bubble bath party atop a condo in the city. We partied till sunrise, and when the day’s first light came up, it silhoutted the buildings, with a glorious orangey hue on the horizon.

After groggily waking up at 1pm, someone from a Family Home nearby rang my phone, and I was greeted by a chorus of song. They must’ve had the whole Home singing over the reciever. And since they are such talented singers, it sounded like a pretty good recording! Sweet!

…It’s been an amazing year, and the one ahead is already greeting me with excitement and challenge. I know that, with Jesus leading the way in my journey through life, it promises to be one filled with adventure and constant learning. I am blessed to be travelling the road alongside some of the most amazing people in the world.

I find it hard to wish for more; everything I could ever ask for has already been given. Perhaps my prayer will be that I can share more of the Lord’s Love with others this coming year…that I may strive to live the creed of discipleship in my heart and actions, and that, as the days and years pass, HE will always remain the most important thing in my life.

Nyx is a vounteer Missionary Member of The Family International. Her missions have taken her through South East Asia, India, East Africa and South Africa. She currently runs charity projects for terminally-ill, indigent children in The Philippines and is also a child-education consultant, youth counsellor, freelance writer for TV, radio, magazines, a voice-talent, illustrator, artist, Events Host and Music Marketer. She is the eldest of 13 siblings, and a Taurean who enjoys spicy food, open-bar nights, long baths, photographing people, and throwing festive parties.
