papaya-pineapple-chicken

This week our market friends donated so much papaya that after eating, drinking and preserving it in all the traditional ways we found ourselves putting papaya into the chicken sauce. That’s right, we ate papaya-pineapple-chicken sauce. Don’t ask me how the idea came up. It wouldn’t have occurred to me in a million years. It was certainly a new experience and one to tell the grandkids… although maybe some of you on the other side of the world eat stuff like that all the time. You know in Colombia they eat “big-bottomed ants”?
That bowl of chicken got me thinking that for going into all the world it’s handy to have a strong sense of culinary adventure. Gotta try it all! …at least once.
