Rowen’s birthday

Joni: I asked Rowen, my oldest, on her ninth birthday what she wanted to do. She asked “Can we go to a water park Mommy?” What a great idea! I couldn’t have thought of a better one myself since it’s been real hot here. I knew that we couldn’t afford to pay for one for all of us since we’re a lot of people, so the Lord would have to do a miracle. I called a couple of water parks and I spoke with the owner of one who told me that he’d be happy to help, just that he could only help in a couple of weeks seeing that it was Semana Santa, which is a time of vacation here and his water park would be full. So we waited, praying that it would work out and that he wasn’t ‘putting me off.’ They’re so polite here, that they don’t like to say “no” straight out (although sometimes I wish they would :)) and you often hear…um…other ways of saying no, although you’re not sure if it’s a no or not…anyway. This turned out to be a definite YES. Bless his heart for his generous giving of free tickets for our whole home to enjoy the water park for the day. We sure had fun! Jesus is so good to us, supplying not only our needs, but our wants as well! And what a sweet man to be so willing to help us. Here are some pictures from that special day.

Hey Vas and Joni, this is Jaydee… GBAKY….
For some reason, out of no where; i got the erg to try and find your blog, and sure enough, there it was. I just wanna say that I love you both very much and respect and admire all the Lord has done through the two of you. believe it or not, you have always been a real inspiration to me and i just felt like the lord wanted me to come on and tell you that. Alot has been happening in my life and i can only pray that i allow the lord uses me as much as he is using you. not only in music, but in the life of a missionary as well. oh…and you got yourself a beautiful Family… I’m in “Family mode” right now, because it seem’s like the Lord got me startin one of my own too…so pray for me on that one. I’m fixin to have my first…

Hi Jaydee!
SO great to hear from you! Thanks for dropping us a line! Well, we do really appreciate those encouraging words. Sometimes it seems like you’re all on your own fighting the battle. It’s so nice to hear from friends and to remember that we’re all in this together. Anything that has been a blessing that we’ve done has for sure only been the Lord. TG He can sometimes punch through us crazies.
BIG congratulations on the starting of your family–I heard about that! That’s really wonderful and I’m so happy for you. We missed you too at Wordstock. I’m a HUGE fan of yours. Keep making that music–it’s really really fun and some of the best!
Love to you–
Joni

Vas & Joni,
You guys are so great, we love you tons and it’s so fun to see what you’re up to. We will keep praying for the Lord’s abundant supply for the work you’re doing there. Joni, I just hope that in the event that I ever mother 5 (soon to be 6) children that I can maintain youth and beauty the way you have. Amazing. We love you!!! –Julie
