Witnessing to beach-babes

May 18th, 2005 | By Benji living in Brazil | More from Benji

I took my kids Mike and Larissa to the beach this morning as the day was just too perfect to waste! It was sunny with very little wind, and the ocean was looking just divine! We have three children and one preteen in the home (two of these of course being my own kids) and [...]

Ceasa

May 13th, 2005 | By Benji living in Brazil | More from Benji

Once every two weeks I go to "The Ceasa" which is a large fresh fruit and vegetable market that supplies all of Rio. We go there every week to pick up fruit and veggie donations for 10 Family homes in the area. It’s one of those days I don’t usually look forward to because it [...]

Brasilia trip highlights – take 3

May 5th, 2005 | By Benji living in Brazil | More from Benji

Today we went over to Patricia’s mothers’ house for lunch, during a little break between our shows. (Patricia has been in the family for 1 year and is from Brasilia. She is the “clown” in our puppet show.) As soon as we arrived, Patricia’s mother handed me a glass of Argentine wine!

May 3rd, 2005 | By Benji living in Brazil | More from Benji

Here we are staying in the house of a long time friend of The Family’s who is a doctor. Her and her husband have been very nice to us and given us the royal treatment, including excellent food, a nice room and good fellowship. Now I’ll definitely want to come back when I get a [...]

More Brasilia Trip Highlights

April 30th, 2005 | By Benji living in Brazil | More from Benji

Well I’m back in Brasilia for the first time after having lived here 11 years ago! I’m starting to feel old, thinking back and seeing my years as a week or two ago! Ha! I think I had forgotten how beautiful the city is. At the same time it doesn’t feel quite right because the [...]

I will be traveling today to Brasilia, the capital of the country for 10 days to do some puppet shows. Brasilia is about 19 hours drive away, so we will travel the first 8 hours today, spend the night in Belo Horizonte, and drive the rest of the time tomorrow. Stay tuned for some tales [...]

Brasilia trip highlights

April 29th, 2005 | By Benji living in Brazil | More from Benji

I went on a week-long puppet show tour trip to Brasilia. Here are a few highlights and things we did: On our way to Brasilia (the capital) we stopped in Belo Horizonte (a medium-sized city about halfway to Brasilia), and spent a night there. It was pretty cool, because I lived in Belo for a [...]

Puppet shows and prayer

April 28th, 2005 | By Benji living in Brazil | More from Benji

We have a puppet show that our home does as an outreach ministry. My brother helped us to make it. We do the show at various schools as a way to raise funds, and what’s better, we pray with the kids after each show. It’s a good way to witness, and the kids really appreciate [...]

Heroics & Histeronics

April 27th, 2005 | By Benji living in Brazil | More from Benji

This morning, I decided to "deep clean" our room (mine and my kids’). This pretty much consists of sweeping and mopping up under the bed and dusting off our desk and various knickknacks. While still recovering from a dust provoked allergy attack, my kids bound in and call me, with frantic tones, because a bird [...]

Activated contest

April 26th, 2005 | By Benji living in Brazil | More from Benji

I got up early Monday morning, loaded my assorted instruments into the car (I play drums so we had to load up the drum set, sound system, microphones, amps, etc.) and was off to help organize an event for over 35 teenagers. The idea was to coordinate an Activated magazine subscription contest for Family teens [...]
