Florecita's Archive

After many years of doing office-type missionary work, Florecita is testing her hand as a field missionary. She is currently the counselor of a group of teenagers, does outreach, restaurant singing… and anything that is needed to help her center and its projects keep momentum. She is also an aficionado of photography and hopes that with it she can show the world a little more of The Family International, its projects, and the wonderful people in it. More about Florecita

Penelope

One of the pre-requisites for this camp I hope to attend is to send in a witnessing testimony. I was in a hurry so I wrote the first one that came to mind, and while it’s embarrassing to remember how non-aggressive my witnessing was 4 years ago, well it still had a happy ending:
Penelope invited [...]

A post!

Man, it’s been ages since I last posted here. Not much has happened and yet so much has changed in the past month.
My husband and I are in Monterrey en route to Mar de Plata, Argentina. He’s helping out with the graphics for some local Activated products that had been backlogged for a few months [...]

Well, I’m happy

June 12th, 2007 | By Flo living in Mexico | More from Flo

It feels like a love-affair between baby and me. We get to spend so much time together just talking and cuddling and experiencing everything for the first time. I’m almost afraid of getting too attached to him lest something horrible would then separate us and break my heart. I guess that’s the risk we run [...]

Muaahhh!

May 29th, 2007 | By Flo living in Mexico | More from Flo

I don’t know if I said this last year, but ONCE AGAIN WORDSTOCK HAPPENED WITHOUT ME! I have airplane tickets… but they’re going in the other direction. *weep!* This year seemed extra fun because they had STEM travel all the way from Japan with his Japanese band members. So cute! Man, that’s one show I [...]

Business trips

May 25th, 2007 | By Flo living in Mexico | More from Flo

This week I’ll be traveling to Mexico City for our appointment with the American embassy (baby paperwork), back to Cuernavaca for the night, and then hopping on a plane to Monterrey where we’ll stay for a few weeks so Daniel can help out with some art projects. Then we come back to Cuernavaca/DF and hop [...]

Little thots

May 24th, 2007 | By Flo living in Mexico | More from Flo

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.
To right the un-rightable wrong,
To love pure and chaste from afar,
To strive when your arms are too weary…
If you can wait and not be tired [...]

papaya-pineapple-chicken

May 23rd, 2007 | By Flo living in Mexico | More from Flo

This week our market friends donated so much papaya that after eating, drinking and preserving it in all the traditional ways we found ourselves putting papaya into the chicken sauce. That’s right, we ate papaya-pineapple-chicken sauce. Don’t ask me how the idea came up. It wouldn’t have occurred to me in a million years. It [...]

To Argentina

May 8th, 2007 | By Flo living in Mexico | More from Flo

It appears that I forgot to mention that my little family (oh how weird, we’re a family now!) will be moving to Argentina soon. We have absolutely loved Mexico and the people in it and are not leaving for greener pastures. The thing is that been invited to work on a project that is right [...]

2 weeks!

May 5th, 2007 | By Flo living in Mexico | More from Flo

My baby turns 2 weeks old today! I celebrated by walking into town to get some meat with my mom (who I forgot to mention is visiting from Chile), having the butcher give me the meat for free as a baby-shower gift, and barely having enough energy to make it home. …,And that’s about as [...]

My baby is here!

April 30th, 2007 | By Flo living in Mexico | More from Flo

He came a few days late, but MY BABY IS HERE!
He has all his little fingers and toes, is perfectly angelic when he sleeps and wicked when he cries. I donÂ’t want to get into the gross details of how the delivery went, but I do want to say that I was blessed with [...]
